Let the car get to runnin temp pull the transmission dip stick out and check level car must be on level ground
the transmission check point is under the car on the drivers side of the transmission. you need a 16mm spanner and you need to check it when the transmission is hot. and the car running. if you check the transmission when the car is at operating temp with the car switched off, the level will be down. the car must be in the park position.
the car has to be warm running, in park, and level to check the transmission fluid
Check transmission fluid level Perhaps needs transmission rebuild
Check transmission fluid level.
Under the hood of the car
Transmission hot, car on a level spot, selector in park.
make sure car is on level ground...open hood...pull transmission dip stick...check transmission fluid level...if low, fill to cold fluid level on dip stick.....start the motor..let the car warm up....check fluid level again....fill to hot level on transmission dip stick....use manufacturer's recommended transmission fluid........usually instructions are on dip stick... make sure car is on level ground...open hood...pull transmission dip stick...check transmission fluid level...if low, fill to cold fluid level on dip stick.....start the motor..let the car warm up....check fluid level again....fill to hot level on transmission dip stick....use manufacturer's recommended transmission fluid........usually instructions are on dip stick...
Car on level ground. Engine warm- low idle. Parking brake must be working, Engine running, transmission in neutral. Check transmission dip stick.
If your car running less then 10 minutes then it's considered a car with cold transmission fluid (fluid should be in the region of cold level marks, but not lower), if more then 10 minutes then it's hot (fluid should be in the region of hot level marks, but not higher). When you check transmission fluid level your car should be running.
It depends on the car...if it is an automatic you pour it in the dipstick tube where you check the level...it the car is a manual there is usually a fill plug on the side of the transmission.
Transmission Fluid Level Check Volkswagen Beetle (1998-2010) Our research indicates that your vehicle does not have a transmission fluid dipstick. These types of transmissions are designed to be maintenance free. In order to check the transmission fluid, your vehicle likely has check valve on the bottom of the transmission on the bottom of your car. Your car must be level when the fluid is checked and we therefore recommend having a mechanic with a hydraulic lift or underground bay check your transmission fluid.
