Transmission Fluid Level Check Volkswagen Beetle (1998-2010) Our research indicates that your vehicle does not have a transmission fluid dipstick. These types of transmissions are designed to be maintenance free. In order to check the transmission fluid, your vehicle likely has check valve on the bottom of the transmission on the bottom of your car. Your car must be level when the fluid is checked and we therefore recommend having a mechanic with a hydraulic lift or underground bay check your transmission fluid.
I want to check the level of atf temp in my subaru forester 2010. On checking the transmission fluid level, after the car was driven about 10 km and was put in each gear and setting the select level in the "p", do i have to turn off the engine or idle the engine before i check the atf level?
The dipstick is a tool that only the dealer has. The owner can not check the fluid.
Most likely. The dealer would charge you to use their parking lot, if they thought they could get away with it. The issue with Chargers and the transmission fluid level is that Doge didn't include (and doesn't appear to sell) a dipstick to check it.
You need the dipstick which is a special tool that the dealer has.
The dipstick is a dealer special tool. You can not check your own transmission fluid.
To keep the transmission fluid cool. Without one it would overheat.
First, the engine must be a normal operating temperature (drive a few times around the block) and then add small amounts of fluid to the transmission checking the level frequently. Overfilling the transmission can do just as much harm as not having enough fluid. Be very careful to not overfill. More is not better in this case.
