Hamster cages should be cleaned by removing all bedding, toys, etc. Rinse out the water bottle and let it dry out. Once everything is out of the cage, take a damp cloth and wash the floor and sides of the cage. While you are cleaning the cage, you can put your hamster in the sink or another place that they cant get out of with your back turned.

∙ 10y agoTo clean a hamster cage after wet tail, you will have to disinfect the cage. Clean the cage and then spray it with disinfectant spray that you buy at the pet store. Ask for something safe for hamsters. Get new bowls and a new water bottle. Disinfect anything that will be going back into the cage.

∙ 15y agoWell, first you empty the bedding, then you spray it with a hose and then you wipe it down with a paper towel. Then add bedding and that's it. no need for special spray or windex.

∙ 14y agoIn pet stores, you can buy a bottle that helps you clean the hamsters cage. Ask a assistant because im sure they have it in some stores and you can ask how to clean them clean.

Well first of all there should not be mold in a hamsters cage. Try taking your hamster out of the cage and keep her/him in something else for a while. Scrub his/her cage really well, get hamster "cage clean" to get the stink out. Your hamster should be fine.
