Hamster cages should be cleaned by removing all bedding, toys, etc. Rinse out the water bottle and let it dry out. Once everything is out of the cage, take a damp cloth and wash the floor and sides of the cage. While you are cleaning the cage, you can put your hamster in the sink or another place that they cant get out of with your back turned.
To clean a hamster cage after wet tail, you will have to disinfect the cage. Clean the cage and then spray it with disinfectant spray that you buy at the pet store. Ask for something safe for hamsters. Get new bowls and a new water bottle. Disinfect anything that will be going back into the cage.
Well, first you empty the bedding, then you spray it with a hose and then you wipe it down with a paper towel. Then add bedding and that's it. no need for special spray or windex.
In pet stores, you can buy a bottle that helps you clean the hamsters cage. Ask a assistant because im sure they have it in some stores and you can ask how to clean them clean.
hi,
if you can try to hold the mouse or put it somewhere else were it is safe!

Try not to disturb your hamster and just dispose of soiled bedding but do not clean the cage until it's wet tail is cured. You have to take it to a vet or else it will die
Well first of all there should not be mold in a hamsters cage. Try taking your hamster out of the cage and keep her/him in something else for a while. Scrub his/her cage really well, get hamster "cage clean" to get the stink out. Your hamster should be fine.
Yes. The hamster's should be separated, the cage should be cleaned completely, and the hamster should receive immediate medical attention or else it may die.
Wet tail in a hamster is not transferable to a person. When a hamster has wet tail, the main symptom is diarrhea.
You need to clean out the cage once a week. You should not need to bathe your hamster (although I do once every few months). NEVER put anything in your hamster's anus - they poop it all out. If, however, your hamster's nether regions are wet, it may have wet tail (diarrhea) and you should rush to a pet store for a product called DryTail that works well or bring the hamster to a vet immediately.
a hamster will get wet tail from stress or because it is unhappy or because your hamster does not have enough space to play in :)
Usually if your hamster has diaria it mean it has wet tail and usually when a hamster has wet tail it dies sorry.
It probably has a disease so you should take it to the vet and clean their cage
All hamsters can get wet tail. Try not to get the hamster wet and don't use cat litter in its toilet. My sister did this and the next day the hamster had wet tail.
Please don't use that stuff. All that does is hides the symptoms or it makes wet tail happen. Keep your hamster cage cleaner than usual and give it lots of vegetables and meats.
Absolutely! Fresh vegetables are great for hamsters. Hamsters love lettuce and would eat it all day if they could. Just make sure you rinse the lettuce well before you feed it to your hamster.
No, 'wet tail' is a bacterial infection that gives the hamster severe, and often fatal diarrhea.
