Some people recommend soaking the glasses in vinegar, others recommend rubbing with acetone - which is also known as nail-polish remover.
If it is cloudy because of smudges use mr. clean, holy cow, or just a vinegar and water combination. I have two dogs and by back door is all glass they breathe on it lick it whatever else they do and all three work for me.
White vinegar and crumpled newspaper does a good job. The vinegar is acid which removes the mineral deposits.

I'm not sure if it would work on cloudy mirrors but try mixing vinegar and water together and sprikle it on your mirrors and with a newspaper, crumple it up into a ball, and start wiping your mirrors with it, newspaper works, trust me. I clean my mirrors with them all the time but i always use water and not vinegar, but I've heard vinegar can do the trick in cleaning class, and mirrors. Good Luck! :)

Glasses get cloudy because detergents no longer contain phosphate. Consequently, hard water deposits get left on your "clean" dishes. There is a new product that solves this exact problem. It's all natural and contains no phosphate. Search for "CitriClean of Florida."
Try soaking the glasses in white vinegar to remove any hard water deposits. Unfortunately, many times this streaking is a quality of the type and age of the glass itself and cannot be changed.

To keep glass from looking cloudy, clean with soapy water and wipe clean with a microfiber cloth. If it is still cloudy, spray it with rubbing alcohol and dry again.
