You can take them out by simply putting your thumb on the opening and taking your other hand and snatching the other side up but they are supposed to remain on the Converse shoes to show that they are actually real. If they still give you trouble use a petroleum solvent spot remover and pour that into the shoe and let it soak through the insole to dissolve the glue

in some stores theres a material shoe cleaning to clean high top converse or low top converse or any other swade shoe. its called swade cleaner but what ever you do dont put water on it. :)
