How do you close rear window on Jaguar xkb convertible when hood motor not working?

I assume you're talking about a Jaguar XK8 or an XKR. The "hood" (British lingo for the convertible top") must be up before the rear windows will go up. You can manually raise the top by pulling off the cover around the CD changer on the right side of the trunk. Above the CD changer and amplifier you'll see the hydraulic pump. On the pump you'll see a T-handle. Turn the T-handle counter-clockwise to relieve the pressure in the hydraulic system. You can then manually pull the convertible top up. Then, when the top is up, you need to latch it. That can be done with the hex key which is attached to the metal framework on which the hydraulic pump is sitting. Take the hex key, sit in the passenger seat, and stick the key into the little hole in the windshield frame just to the right of the rear view mirror. Turn it clockwise to raise the latch. Then, while pulling down on the top with your left hand (use the little grab handle just above the rear view mirror), you can rotate the hex key counter-clockwise to latch the top. Once is it latched the computer will allow the back windows to be raised. Just push on the button as if you were trying to close the top.

There is also info there about how to raise the rear windows manually, but that's way too complicated to explain here without pictures. You have to take apart the center console, splice into a specific wire, etc...
