I have a 01 Volvo and I had the same problem trying to compress the rear brake cyinder. Turns out that a car that has 4 wheel disc brakes, the cylinder screws in. You have to buy a universal tool from the auto parts store and it will go in enough to replace the brake pads..
I believe on this model you need a special tool to push the piston back. You can go to the website I have below click the link below!
You can use a large C-Clamp to compress the caliper piston.
You put the brake fluid inside the brake master cylinder
in the master cylinder resivore ; )
it says on the master cylinder cap. it should be Dot 3 brake fluid
where is the alternator located in a 2003 infinity I35
The brake fluid reservoir is on top of the master cylinder. Right in front of the driver, mounted to the firewall.
Clutch master cylinder, usually located near the brake master cylinder. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I chose the ( 1996 and 2003 ) Ford Escort owners manuals to look at and they show that the brake master cylinder is also used for the hydraulic clutch
No
If the " BRAKE " warning light in your gauge panel is on , either your parking / emergency brake is on and if not , YOUR BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IS LOW in the brake master cylinder located in your engine compartment
some model's that have the parking brake Incorporated into the rear caliper, you must compress and turn the piston until the proper clearance is obtained.
