When I purchased the Sony Home Theater I was able to use HDMI cables to Plug my cable Box and PS3 into the Home theater and then plug the home theater into the Sony HDTV with a 3rd HDMI cable. Now when I turn on the PS3 the home Theater works unless I turn it off and then the sound comes from the HDTV speaker system. Sony makes a sound bar PS3 home theater, but I purchased a Sony HTSF470 Home Theater System that has HDMI repeaters. Many Home theaters also include a BLUE RAY DISC player and since one was already included with the PS3 this 1000 watt 5.1 system with the built in speaker stands met my needs perfectly.
I do not know whether systems without the HDMI repeaters can be connected the same way. I just followed the home theater set up instructions and set up the PS3 as a Blu Ray Disc player, which it also is.
Depends on your system. I connect mine by plugging the audio cables from my avi cables into the back of my Sony surround sound.
I used my Sony Home Theater model HTSF470 to connect both my PS3 and HDTV to it connecting the PS3 as a Blue Ray Disc all with HDMI cables and also My Comcast HD Cable box is connected to the Sony Home Theater. When I use the PS3 remote to turn on the PS3 the HDTV switches from the Cable Box to the PS3 and so does the home theater
You switch it to the lowest TV settings and then Move the PS3 to the new TV and plug it in the TV. You can also switch the connection A/V cable to or from the optional cables for HDMI or Component Video at this time. Then you match the settings for the new TV if you do not want to keep the lowest Video settings.
To make the PS3 go to the lowest video settings Hold Power button down for two beeps (while PS3 is off): Reset video to lowest settings.
My system allows everything to be plugged into the Home theater or surround sound system and that to be plugged into the HDTV

u have to use your ps3 av multi out cable
Yes just connect it to the TV with the cable included when you purchase the PS3
I plugged the HDMI cable into the HDTV and into the PS3. Then I went to the settings for both the HDTV and the PS3 slim and set them for HDMI and sync. When it works right putting a disc into the PS3 will turn on the HDTV and also switch the HDTV over to that HDMI input rather than a cable box or similar item even if it was on the cable box when you last used the HDTV.
That is correct only if the TV has at least RCA plugs. The PS3 does not connect to the TV by coaxial to the cable or antenna input
Connect your PS3 to your TV then connect you surround sound to your TV.
The PS3 will work on any TV you can connect it to
No a PS3 can play on any TV that has input plugs to connect the PS3
Yes Just connect it to the TV with the cable that came with the PS3.
Yes a projection TV
You can connect a sound system through your TV or the Sonystyle.com site has a new PS3 sound system for under $200 that was designed for the PS3
no
If it has the audio and video plugs to connect the PS3
No it does not have to be a special TV or a HDTV to connect and play the PS3. You do need a TV that has A/V input capability. That means 2 Audio RCA type Plug inputs and one Video RCA Type plug input are needed to connect the PS3 to the TV with the A/V cable that comes with the PS3.
The best way to connect the PS3 to a TV is with an HDMI cable. You must have a TV with HDMI input and you must purchase the cable as it does not come with the PS3. If your TV does not have an input for an HDMI cable or you do not want to purchase the cable you can use the color coded plugs on the cable that comes with the slim PS3 game console to plug it into your TV and the HDMI plug into your PS3 console.
u have to use your ps3 av multi out cable
ANY TV that you have the ability to connect the PS3 too. That means at least an input for RCA video and audio plugs to allow the PS3 to Connect. An HDMI plug on a HDTV is the ideal setup that the PS3 was designed for, but the other will still work to provide a picture as clear as the television gets without the PS3 connected.
