Anode is positive and cathode is negative. Cathode is the longest led frame. Anode is where the oxidation reaction takes place while cathode is where the reduction reaction takes place or in a galvanic corrosion the anode is the metal that corrodes while the cathode is protected.
it is an anode
An anode is positive, Cathode is negative. As such, an anode would usually be denoted as + If that is what you meant.
Zinc is the anode.
No, because the chart shows reduction potentials. Ered cathode - Ered anode = emf just requires you to plug in the reduction potentials the way they are. A common equation is Ered cathode + Eox anode = emf, in which case you would have to flip the sign of the anode's reduction potential, since you would need its oxidation potential. But the equation Ered cathode - Ered anode = emf is simpler and probably formed to be that way.
common pin connected to supply
The output of 8051 micro controller is active high so we must need to use the common cathode type display . it will work glow when any input is high . The anode terminals of leds's of seven segment connected to 8051's output and cathode is common and grounded . so it require common cathode because 8051 provide active high output.
The Anode (+) is what you connect the positive voltage to The Cathode (-) is what you connect the negative voltage to.
A 74 series BCD to 7-segment decoder, converting 4 bit binary values into signals to drive a common anode 7 segment display. Datasheet can be found here:http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/datasheets/70/375646_DS.pdf
if we r connecting all anode pins of 7 segments.. It is called common anode.Common Anode 7-segment displayThe Anode, or (+) is supplied, ( pins 3,8 are connected to + through a resistor)So if any of the input pins to turn on the segments go low, they will complete a circuit from (-) to (+) and light a light. For example if there is a low signal (-) on pin 10 the G line in the middle will light up.if we r connecting all cathode pins of 7 segments.. A Common Anode Means A Negative Terminal Of The Battery.
A common anode 7-segment display is sometimes used in applications were the driving IC can not supply all of the required current but it can pull it to ground. This is common in microcontrollers. An IO pin of amicrocontroller might only be able to source a few milliamps of current, but it can sink 20 - 30 milliamps.

the two types of anode is stationary anode and rotating anode
Connect positive to negative, leaving the end positive and negative connections free to power circuits or devices. Connecting batteries in series adds the voltage of the batteries. For instance, connecting three 12v car batteries in series will create a total of 36v, enough for welding.
