Your PS3 must have a wireless adapter installed if you want to connect to the internet wirelessly. Otherwise, if you don't you will have to use an Ethernet cable. If you have a wireless adapter installed on your PS3. You will need to connect it to your wireless router. Go to the wireless network menu on your PS3. Find the (SSID) network name of your network. Sony has not released a wireless adapter specifically for the PS3; however you may purchase a wireless internet bridge and connect that way. anonymous@oola.com

All models of the PS3 include Wireless adapters except the first 20 GB model and I don't know if you can locate the Sony adapter for the early model.
You need a WiFi connection to the internet to be able to use the wireless connection in the PS3. For people without one and that already have an internet connection they can purchase a wireless router and connect it to the modem. You can also purchase a router and an ethernet cable and have a wired connection to the internet.
If its formated for the PS3 I would think so, BUT the PS3 already has a built in wirless adaptor
