I plugged the HDMI cable into the HDTV and into the PS3. Then I went to the settings for both the HDTV and the PS3 slim and set them for HDMI and sync. When it works right putting a disc into the PS3 will turn on the HDTV and also switch the HDTV over to that HDMI input rather than a cable box or similar item even if it was on the cable box when you last used the HDTV.
To set up HDMI for your PS3 first power down your PS3 and plug in a HDMI cable to it. Secondly power on the TV that the HDMI cable is plugged into and switch the input to HDMI input. Finally power up your PS3 and you will be prompted to enable HDMI mode. Select yes and confirm to use HDMI output.

What you do is hook it up to your PS3 then to your T.V then go to Display Settings on your PS3 and click HDMI and it's going to ask you to switch to the HDMI source then you click ok. It increases the picture and sound making the picture HD and sound clearer. Hope I helped.
It is very simple to connect the PS3 to the HDTV indicated. Purchase a HDMI cable for the connection of the PS3 and your HDTV. The back of the PS3 has a spot to Plug in the HDMI cable and the HDTV should have a few HDMI Inputs. Once connected and with the PS3 turned on and plugged in you may need to set the HDTV to the location that the HDMI cable has been plugged or it may already have the PS3 cross media bar. Go to your settings and set the video and HDMI to match your 3D TV. When set up right with the slim model PS3 the HDTV should turn on when both devices are off and you slide a game into your PS3. The HDTV should also switch to the PS3 whenever it is turned on by using the HDMI sync feature that you turned on under the settings menu. You may find that you also have to adjust the settings for your HDTV for this to occur.
