Type your answer here... To use two batteries as a single power source, you have to connect the positive to the negative and the remaining negative to ground. The remaining positive goes to the red positive cable. The batteries are now in a series circuit. If you use two 6 volt batteries the total voltage is 12 volts. If you use 2 12 volt batteries the total voltage is 24 volts.

If you hook the batteries both negative to negative and positive to positive you have made a parallel circuit. Batteries in a parallel circuit cancel each other out. Two 6 volt batteries in parallel have a total voltage of 0 volts.

Will the circuit with two batteries a bulb and a motor work?

If you will connect it right, it will work.

Will two 6v batteries make your sons ride on work faster than one 6v battery?

If the machine is designed to run on 6v and you use two 6v batteries instead of one, then . . . -- If you connect the two batteries in parallel, then they will last twice as long between recharges as one battery does. -- If you connect the batteries in series, then they will definitely overheat the motor, and possibly destroy it.

How do you connect neon lights to two 6v batteries?

you want to wire the batteries in series...connect negative of one battery to positive of the other. You then use the two remaining terminals as youe - and + 12v source

How can you wire 4-12 VDC batteries together to get 24 VDC out of them?

You would connect two 12-v batteries in series to get 24 Volts, but if you have four, you can connect two sets of batteries in parallel and then connect the two sets of parallel batteries in series, giving you 24 volts with twice the ampere-hour capacity (four batteries rather than two).

How to connect 4 - 6V batteries for -12V system?

In order to connect 4-6 volt batteries and end up with 12volts you will need to understand parallel and series connections. to connect two batteries in parallel you would connect the positive side of one battery to the positive side of the other battery; and the negative side of one battery to the negative of the other battery. doing this will not change the voltage. to connect in series you connect the positive of one battery to the negative of the other battery. doing this will increase the voltage;in this example you will end up with 12v. 6+6=12. when you stack batteries in a 2-cell flashlight that is connecting the batteries in series. The answer to the question is: connect two batteries in series; then connect the other two batteries in series. after this is done connect the two pairs of batteries in parallel. If you think of it visually you would have two batteries wide and two batteries tall.

How do you shorten batteries?

connect its two terminals with a wire.

To increase the voltage output when using more than one battery connect the two batteries in?

Series.

You have 2-6volt golf cart batteries wired in series for an RV How are you to wire 2 other batteries in series with them making 4 batteries to an RV?

I'm a bit confused here... but I think you are asking:I have two batteries in series in my RV ==> making one 12 V batteryHow do I connect the other two to them to make this battery stronger? What you need to do is connect the second set of batteries in series with each other, then connect the two pairs in parallel.I tried to draw what I mean with text but it didn't work... so..... "parallel" means connecting the positive end of the first chain to the positive end of the second chain, and the same with the negative. These ends are what you also connect into the RV.

Can two 8 volt batteries make 16 volts?

Yes, if you connect the two batteries in series. You will then have 16 volts, but the current will stay the same as if you only had one battery connected.

How do you connect two battery for 24 volts?

Connect two 12 volt batteries in series and you will have 24 volts.

How do you wire 3 12 volt batteries to get 24 volts how to connect the wire?

Wire two of the 12 volt batteries in series and the third battery in parallel with the other two. As the two batteries wired in series will give you 24 volts but the amps of only one of the batteries, unless you need the extra amperage of that third battery I would just go with two batteries wired in series. But if you want to use three batteries then connect the positive from one battery to the negative of the other battery. This will give you 24 volts. Now just connect the negative of the third battery to the negative of the first battery connected in series with the second battery. Now connect the positive to the second battery to the positive of the third battery. You will now still have 24 volts but twice the amperage of one of the batteries.

How do you hook up 4 6volt batteries to get 12 volt?

Connect two 6 volt batteries in series. Connect the other two 6 volt batteries in series. Now connect those 2 pairs you have together in parallel. You will end up with 12 volts.
