There are a number of different conversion scales. However, the best one I've come across is as follows:
GPA Percentile Letter Grade
4.0 --- 95 + up -- A 3.9 --- 94 -------- A 3.8 --- 93 -------- A 3.7 --- 92 -------- A 3.6 --- 91 -------- A 3.5 --- 90 -------- A 3.4 --- 89 -------- B 3.3 --- 88 -------- B 3.2 --- 87 -------- B 3.1 --- 86 -------- B 3.0 --- 85 -------- B 2.9 --- 84 -------- B 2.8 --- 83 -------- B 2.7 --- 82 -------- B 2.6 --- 81 -------- B 2.5 --- 80 -------- B 2.4 --- 79 -------- C 2.3 --- 78 -------- C 2.2 --- 77 -------- C 2.1 --- 76 -------- C 2.0 --- 75 -------- C 1.9 --- 74 -------- C 1.8 --- 73 -------- C 1.7 --- 72 -------- C 1.6 --- 71 -------- C 1.5 --- 70 -------- C 1.4 --- 69 -------- D

There is a much easier scale on the related links we've added, along with an advanced GPA calculator. Just remember, not all schools are the same when it comes to percentages.
Each grade has points associated to it:
A=4
B=3
C=2
D=1
for + grades add 0.3 and - subtract 0.3
Then it depends whether you want 'weighted' or 'unweighted' GPA. For 'unweighted' you simply add the grade points for each class and divide by the total classes.
For 'weighted' you multiply the grade point by the amount of credits the class is worth, sum the totals and divide by the sum of credits.
Approximately 3.96
4(98.88035) = 395.5214
395.5214/100 = 3.955214
rounded = 3.96
It dosnt matter what percentage it is after 80.0 its a 3.0 i.e. an 89.9 is still a 3. Gpa 1-4 is, <90-100= 4.0, <80-90=3.0, <70-60= 2.0,etc.
4(104.17) = 416.68
416.68/100 = 4.1668 (or 4.17)
say you have a 3.8 out of 4.0 - convert to fraction and cross multiply then divide
3.8 = x
4.0 5.0
3.8 * 5.0 /4.0 = x
x=4.75
What would be the letter grade for a 79.6%
2 1/2 times smaller scale, so 40% of the original scale.
The best way to convert percentage into marks is by using the formula where they would multiply the GPA. Example: If the GPA is 3.0, then the equivalent percentage equals 3.0 x 18 + 30 = 74 percent.
To convert a fraction to a percentage multiply by 100%: 1/40 = 1/40 x 100 % = 2.5 %
To convert a fraction of a percentage multiply by 100: 2/40 = 2/40 x 100 % = 200/40 % = 5 %
To convert a percentage to a decimal divide by 100: 40 % = 40 ÷ 100 = 0.4
30-40%
Convert 40% oxygen to liters
28/40 = 0.7, so when you convert 0.7 to a percentage, you get 70%.
Convert the percentage to a decimal: 16% = 16 / 100 = 0.1616% of 40= 16% * 40= 0.16 * 40= 6.4
To find a percentage from a fraction, you first convert the fraction to a decimal. In this case, 19.5/40 = 0.4875. The next step is to multiply this number by 100 to get our percentage. 0.4875x100=48.75, so 19.5 out of 40 is 48.75%
Divide 7 by 40, then multiply the result by 100 to convert to percent.
Expressed as a percentage, 24/40 x 100 = 60 percent. Expressed as a decimal, 24/40 = 0.6.
