It depends on how many times you've blown it and the severity of the offense. First offenses can be mended by owning the behavior, asking forgiveness and not making excuses--the less words the better. Brevity triumphs over long, drawn out explanations. It is hard for us women to speak our peace and shut up since we are often not comfortable with long silences. Give your guy a chance, and the room, to process your apology. Hey--and prayer does work, BTW! If all else fails, throw yourself on the mercy seat and ask God to soften the heart of your true love. It's worked for me.....I truly wish your the best!
