- You sound like a fine young man, but eighty dollars is a lot of money and if you want it earn it! Sit down with your parents and ask what chores you can do to earn the eighty dollars. Just doing laundry doesn't cut it and there is so much more you can do as far as chores around the house. Money doesn't grow on trees and to you it may appear your parents have lots of money and even if they have they worked hard to get it. Once you earn your own moneyfor that laptop you will have a much better feeling because you earned the money and didn't just expect your parents to hand that type of money over to you even though you have saved some of the money already. Although you may not understand this now by earning your own money and not expecting handouts from your parents builds more strength of character in yourself and because of that you will be a more independent and well put together young adult.

okay...well thanks for ...im a girl... and i already have $390.66 or something, and is not like those are the only chores i do...but yeah i see what your saying, its just that it took me like a few years to earn that money because i cant get a job, and i would prefer to have the laptop before june or may... and my birthday is soon so i refered the $80 as "early birthday gift" and they wouldnt need to give me anything for my actual birthday...
