- She agreed to let me get it done when I turn 16... that didn't happen because I did it myself.
- I think having as much information as possible to present to your mom about risk of infection and such would definitely help your case. As far as piercing yourself that can be extremely dangerous and is not recommended, your body has a lot of arteries than can be injured if you pierce the wrong spot !
- My sister got a small gem or diamante and stuck it to her nose (don't use super glue!). She told my parents that she got it done properly, my parents thought it looked lovely so the next day she went out and got it done for real, it worked for her.
- Take her shopping with you in the mall. All sorts of beauty salons do it and choose something dainty and perhaps on the side of your nose. Nothing too gaudy. I am sure there are a few of the girls in the beauty salon that do have nose piercing and let your mom see it and assure her you can take it out whenever you please and also you can let the small hole heal up. I think she may go for it.
- I am only 13 years old and I asked my mom can I get one if it wasn't really noticible. So she agreed like what harm can it do. We went to get it done and since I had to go in alone I simply asked the man or woman that was doing the job would it be nocitable. He said you can see it if u glimpsed at someone. I thought that was great after the job was done my mom saw it she was angry for like a few minutes then she noticed that I looked really good in it.
- My dad threatened me a lot, but when afterI had it done (he didn't know I was going to get it done) he was stunned I actually did it.

Actually you may not be able to get it pierced anyway, the face is still developing and the nostril flanges that we look for must be obvious and developed. If the flanges are not there and obvious and the piercing is done then you end up with a piercing that is not properly placed ( it would look goofy ). Mind you professional piercers would not do something that looked goofy, they would ask you to wait until the nose and face develops further and thus giving you a great looking piercing that you can keep for as long as you want. This way you wont be looking at a mistake you made when you were eleven, when you are 22 and looking in the mirror. From Maddie-x: I am 12 and getting my nose pierced 1 month after my 13th birthday. in shops they let you from the age of 13 + it was my mums idea for me to get a nose piercing + i cant wait. Just do really well at school and don't keep bugging her about it (which is what i did, learning from my friends mistake who now has to wait until she is 16!) haha. I am a parent of a 13 year old. I would allow her to get her nose pierced at her age but not her lip. But I don't think all 13 year olds should be allowed. She is responsible and I trust that she would properly care for it. She also is an honor student with great grades. If she was failing or an irresponsible child I wouldn't allow her to. I have my nose pierced so that may be why I'm more lenient with it. My advice would be to show your parents you can be responsible in other areas of your life, and maybe then you can convince them you are mature enough to get a facial piercing.

I dont now about in DC but in NYc YOU dont need parents to get your piercing if your 15and+ years old ....you just need to be old enough to get a tatoo if your not 18 and older yuh need a parent there with you

Well let me just say, piercing your nose byself was such a STUPID idea ! When you get it professionaly done, they tell you everything on how to clean it and shyt. But to keep it from getting infected, you need to clean it twice a day. How do i clean mine? 1. Use a q-tip and dab water all around the piercing 2. Use a small piece of toilet paper and dab the water off 3. Use a q-tip and dab spectro jel all around the piercing 4. Use another small piece of toilet paper and dab the jel off 5. Use a q-tip and dab water on it again to get rid of all the jel 6. use more toilet paper and dry it off 7. Your all good (: TWICE A DAY, MORNING AND NIGHT, THAT IS ! <3

I pierced my own nose, and all I did was let a safety pin sit in rubbing alcohol, then I rubbed the alcohol on my nose, and let about 2 ice cubes melt on my nose. I got as far through as I could without feeling a thing, then I took more ice cubes and kept trying to get through until the numbness went away.

Depends on why he's against it. Start my being extremely responsible. Then show him that you know how to take care of a piercing. Show him websites that you've looked at, articles etc. If he's afraid of you looking trashy or something, show him pictures of pretty people with their nose pierced. You can also show him pictures of the different types of jewelery esp. hider jewelry or retainers. It'd also be a good idea to take him to the piercing shop beforehand. The piercer could give your dad info on the piercing and your dad can see just how clean the shop is so he won't worry about infections/diseases. Good luck!
