Click the same icon again and it will turn it off.
go to file - options and then choose proofing , under when correcting spelling and grammar in word turn off everything
Click the left button on your mouse and then it will give you options on what word you miss spelled.

In order for Word to indicate that changes have been made in a document, you must have the Track Changes feature enabled. The three ways in which it indicates that changes have been made are through colored underlines, a bar in the margin and the presence of notes in the extended margin.

It means it (most likely/probably) is a grammar mistake. However, I do think that Microsoft Word (any version) has and can make mistakes with grammar and/or spelling.
When a word is underlined by a red wavy line, it signifies that that word is misspelled.
