Well, using a curling iron or curlers always curls hair. Perms will also curl hair semi-permanently (at least for a few months at a time). Even twirlign your hair and securing it with a hair-tie or clip after showering and letting it dry naturally (while twisted or braided) will usually leave your hair with soft curls and waves.
