How do you make a square euro pillow?

European, or Euro, shams are fairly large, square pillows that are good for leaning against in bed. They can also be used as decorative accent pillows. Most Euro shams measure 26 inches square. However, since it can be difficult to find pillow forms in this size, you may want to make your own Euro shams slightly smaller or larger. To make the Euro pillow sham, you can use thick home decor fabrics or regular cotton fabric. You may want the Euro shams to match your bedspread as closely as possible, or you may want to use a contrasting color to make the Euro pillow shams stand out. # Step 1 # Cut a piece of fabric for the front of the Euro sham that is 27 inches square, or one inch larger than the height and width of the pillow. # Step 2 For the back of the Euro sham, cut two pieces of fabric, each 27 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches tall, or the same width as the front piece and half the height plus 2 inches. # Step 3 On each of the back pieces, fold one long edge of fabric over 1/4 inch toward the wrong side of the fabric, then fold the edge over again another 1/4 inch. Press the folds flat, then stitch along each fold using matching thread. # Step 4 Lay the front piece of the Euro sham fabric right side up. # Step 5 Place the two back pieces of the Euro sham fabric right side down on top of the front piece, with the hemmed edges overlapping each other. Line up the front and back Euro sham pieces along the edges. # Step 6 Pin the pieces of fabric together, then stitch them together along all four sides using 1/4-inch seam allowance. # Step 7 Turn the Euro pillow sham right side out. Insert the pillow form through the opening in the back of the Euro sham. # == #* Pillow form (26 by 26 inches) #* 3/4 yard of fabric #* Matching thread #* Scissors #* Iron #* Ironing board #* Straight pins #* Sewing machine

How do you make a pillow sham?

Using a pillow sham is a great way to jazz up a tired old pillow and make it really stand out as a decorative piece in your room. With some very basic sewing knowledge and a great fabric, you can give your pillow new life and style. # Step 1 # Measure the pillow you would like to cover. # Step 2 Choose your desired fabric, along with any decorative trim or pieces you would like to use. # Step 3 Fold the fabric in half, print side in. # Step 4 Cut your fabric to size, leaving about 1-½ inch extra in all directions for the hem. # Step 5 Use a sewing machine to sew a simple stitch from the fold of the fabric out along the two longest sides. # Step 6 Cut off any excess along the edges. # Step 7 Fold over your fabric along the bottom of your pillow sham to create the hem. # Step 8 Sew along the hem, leaving your pillow sham open so you can slide a pillow into it. # Step 9 Add any desired decorative pieces to your pillow using your sewing machine, or even fabric glue. # Step 10 Turn your pillow sham right-side-out and slide your pillow inside. # == #* Fabric #* Sewing machine #* Needle and thread

How do you sew a heart shaped pillow?

Find a heart template, You can make one by opening Microsoft office or paintbrush and adding then enlarging a heart shape to the desired size. Print and cut to the shape. Fold your Fabric in half and pin the template to it. Cut out the shape. You will have 2 heart shapes. If you are going to add lace pin the lace to the edges of the "Right Side" of the fabric (or the side that will be showing when finished). Place the second heart shape on top. The two "Right Sides" should be facing one another, on the inside. Sew the two sides together. Leave a small opening on a straight side of the pillow 1 to 3 inches depending on size of pillow. Turn the pillow right side out through the hole and then stuff the pillow. Sew up the hole and you have a cute heart-shaped pillow!
