there is also a cruise control wand immediately behind the steering wheel at approximately the 10'o'clock position. You can control the cruise control with this stalk. Pushing it forward while you are at a steady speed will lock the speed in. Pushing the stalk forward will disengage CC. Pushing it down will slowly reduce the speed. Pulling it back will slowly raise the speed.
But touching the brake should always completely disengage the system.

there is a lever on the steering column under the one that controls the wipers. pull it towards you to activate. using the clutch or accelerating will automatically deactive.

To deactivate the cheat you used in GTA: San Andreas, just retype the cheat you activated. for example: you activated the cheat "aezakmi" (never wanted), retype "aezakmi" to deactivate (you'll have a star again in case you do crime).

It is possible to convert a car without cruise control to have cruise control. Many auto parts stores sell kits which will install cruise control in a vehicle.
a loose wire will cause that. also lots of other reasons but ford is known for cruise control failures in that year on all models
