How do you defeat the final boss in Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story?

Dark Bowser is the ultimate boss of the game, and he is extremely tough to beat. So, you gotta start off punching, or firing Dark Bowser. He will then throw a huge boulder into the air, and break it with dark fire. Parts of the boulder will fall down, and you gotta Dodge 'em. But, if there is a boulder by the right of normal Bowser, hit it and it will fire and block Dark Bowser's mouth, resulting in damage to him. Hit him again, and he'll redo the boulder thing. Once you've done 1000 damage to him, he will die. But Fawful will resurrect him, and Dark Bowser will grow to a huge size. He will then throw a bunch of dark minions, and you gotta get past 'em all. Then you must punch his belly. He will cough out Fawful. Next move, you gotta inhale Fawful. Note that you should press X and Y at the same time, for more inhaling power. Once you've inhaled Fawful, he'll grow to a serious size. So, start attacking his glasses. Once both lenses are broken, you can attack his feet. Once you've killed all Fawful's body parts, then he will drop down. And, a new option has appeared; you can now attack the Dark Star Core. Later on, he will jump out of Bowser's body, and you'll have to do it all over again.

If you can beat Dark Bowser, then you have skill, 'cos you know that he's the game boss.

Okay, first keep using the Punch attack or any special attack of your choice on Dark Bowser until he falls over.

Then, the Dark Star Fawful, will revive him giving him 1000 health back.

Dark Bowser will get a sudden growth spurt.

If he fell over after you attacked, prepare to defend.

Defense Guide:

Dark Goomba-Punch

Dark Koopa Shell-Punch

Dark Bom-omb-Punch

Dark Bullet/Banzai Bill-Punch (If on bottom)/Duck (If on top)

Dark Thwomp-Duck

When it seems no more enemies are coming prepare to duck because Dark Bowser will attack you in his ball mode twice.

If not, punch him in the stomach not head. You will miss.

After that, he will cough up Dark Star Fawful.

Use your Vacuum Block. It may not work the first time. If it does not work the first time, repeat until it does.

When Dark Star Fawful enters Bowser, get Mario to use the special attack, Falling Star, on one of Dark Star Fawful's glasses. If you do a good job his glasses should shatter.

Get Luigi to do the same with the other glasses.

Next defend from whatever attack he is using.

Restore SP as needed, then use the special attack Snack Basket, and destroy Dark Star Fawful's legs/appendages, making leaving him crippled. He should fall leaving the Dark Star open to attack. Use the special attack Falling Star again on Dark Star. Make sure that before the Dark Star regenerates Fawful and leaves, that both of the Mario Brothers have full SP.

Repeat entire process until The Dark Star has lights coming out of it.

It will then be defeated.

Then the game will instruct you (Bowser), to give the finishing blow.

Finally, you get to see the credits, and a cutscene.

Defending:

-Dark Bowser

-Punch-Time your Punch to block his, then duck when he turns into a ball.

-Dark Cage-Punch until the lock breaks.

-Dark Fiery Boulder Bits-Duck when they get close enough, and when they stop for a while, you should see one coming from the right. Punch that into Dark Bowser's mouth to prevent him from breathing his Dark Fire.

-Dark Star Fawful and Dark Star

-Giant Dark Laser-Jump and latch onto Chippy (Starlow).

-Dark Corkscrew- Jump, be careful of timing and you can see who it is aimed at on the top screen because of the colours (Red-Mario, Green-Luigi).

-Dark Energy Pulse-Just hammer the energy back at Dark Star Fawful

-Dark Illusion-Jump, you can see who the ball is aimed at again with the colours.

-Dark Energy Release-Just jump away from the shockwave.

Notes: Remember to be fully healed and stocked up on items.

To beat Dark Boswer you must follow these rules

1. Weaken him til he falls and fawful heals him

2.when he turns Giant dodge his attack and use fire or Goomba storm on his head

3.then if you see fawful run away inhal him before dark bowser

4. use Mario and luigi to kill him

5. Repeat until fawful is dead

6.Kill dark bowser

7.You win

As long as you have decent gear on Mario, Luigi and Bowser and all the attack moves (specifically Falling Star and Broggy Bonker), this fight shouldn't be too hard. Start by using Broggy Bonker on Dark Bowser until he goes down and Dark Fawful heals him and enlarges him to a bigger size.

Hit his belly and Dark Fawful should pop out. Inhale him with Bowser (Be careful, Dark Bowser will try to inhale him too). After inhaling him, the fight will switch to inside Bowser.

Use Jump Helmets on Fawful's glasses to stop him hiding his legs and then use a Snack Basket on Fawful's legs. After doing this use Falling Star on the Dark Star. If the Dark Star gets out of Bowser, repeat the steps until you beat the Dark Star.

Note:

Remember to restore HP and SP when you need it. I had the Excellent! and Mushroom Badges on during this fight.

keep attacking dark bowser (i used to magikoopa mobs and 1 punch) until he turns big (when he outs you in a cage keep hitting it or you WILL die). then punch him in the stomach and suck up fawful. have Mario and luigi attack his glasses (for fawful i kept using falling star but make sure Mario and luigi both have enough for i more) then his legs. (this part i used snack basket). use the two falling stars on the dark star. when he shoots the missle at you HIT IT BACK. then you get to beat the snot out of dark bowser with him being healed.

Use the side hammer to knock him in the lava when you can, but when the walls come up, use the up hammer. When he is standing on metal grates, use the jump or spin attack. Never use mushrooms, as the shy guys will destroy the ground and send you into the lava. The rest is pretty self-explanatory.
