You have no way of knowing who you are connecting to, or who is connecting to you, or just what is in the file you are downloading - many will contain viruses etc. that can damage your computer.

Also if you have imported and music or files from limewire into another program, I suggest you get rid of these files as a little box will appear from limewire saying that some files are corrupt, although they are not, because limewire is not there. If these files are not deleted then limewire will corrupt your whole system as I found out last year. I ended up having to re-format. The safest thign to do is remove limewire and all file downloaded by it, no matter what program they're in.

I couldn't delete Limewire. Kept on getting a pop-up that said there was a problem. I uninstalled the program & still it remained. Anyhow i found how to rid it & it was quite simple. Restart your computer in safe mode( when it's booting up, keep pressing F8). Once in safe mode you can go to C/Program files/Limewire, then delete the folder. hope this helps ED
Computer damage from uninstall LimeWire?
this may sound bad but you have to insatll it completly, then go int your ad and remove files and delete it. from what i heard limewire basic is the way to go, just you have to shut it down when you are no using it.
