limewire
Limewire itself is safe. However the files you download using it may not be.
yes.
No. Limewire (the free version) without you noticing will fill your computer with all sorts of files that are viruses. Limewire PRO now comes with an anti-virus...
Yes. LimeWire can only share files while it is running.
Using Limewire is not illegal. Limewire is a P2P file sharing utility. If you share files which are copyrighted and without a licence or permission then that is illegal.
Yes, it is pretty easy to do. Just uninstall it, then go to your documents and delete the "limewire" folder. If you want no remnants at all of it on your computer, go to your temporary files and delete anything that says limewire in it.
FrostWire and LimeWire store music in your documents folder, or whatever folder you specify. Uninstalling / deleting them does not remove the files you downloaded.

General Support from dposit files (09-03-2011) Unfortunately you can not delete your account. Alternative solution is to change the email on non-existent, and forget your password.
LimeWire has started operating a store selling MP3 files in the US. An account is needed to access these files. In general LimeWire is not a store. LimeWire is software that connects your computer to other peoples computer (See links below) and they are connected to yours. You are sharing files (usually) illegally between computers. You have no way of knowing who you are connecting to, or who is connecting to you, or just what is in the file you are downloading - many will contain viruses etc. that can damage your computer.
Well yes you are safe from the law, but your not exactly. Unless you remove all downloaded content from limewire then technically you are still breaking the law by having illegal copies of media. Also if you have imported and music or files from limewire into another program, I suggest you get rid of these files as a little box will appear from limewire saying that some files are corrupt, although they are not, because limewire is not there. If these files are not deleted then limewire will corrupt your whole system as I found out last year. I ended up having to re-format. The safest thign to do is remove limewire and all file downloaded by it, no matter what program they're in.
You have to go into your documents and into the limewire folder and delete it out of the "library or "download" folder
Preferences -> Itunes sharing
I couldn't delete Limewire. Kept on getting a pop-up that said there was a problem. I uninstalled the program & still it remained. Anyhow i found how to rid it & it was quite simple. Restart your computer in safe mode( when it's booting up, keep pressing F8). Once in safe mode you can go to C/Program files/Limewire, then delete the folder. hope this helps ED
this may sound bad but you have to insatll it completly, then go int your ad and remove files and delete it. from what i heard limewire basic is the way to go, just you have to shut it down when you are no using it.
