You can determine the End Point of a Fermentation in many different ways.

Often the limiting nutrient stops any further growth. Monitoring the nutrients via offline sampling can be done, but is time consuming and with delay.

Most efficient way is to look at the offgas of the fermentation with a process Mass Spectrometer i.e. Prima dB from Thermo Scientific, where the End Point will be clearly indicated. The parameters OUR (Oxygen Uptake Rate) and CER (Carbondioxide Evolution Rate) will show a good trend, and indicate when to transfer to next scaleUp or stop.

The ratio of OUR and CER gives you RQ, the respiratory Quotient, which tells you which Carbon-source the cells are using as feed. At i.e. glucose RQ = 1, and when feeding on stearic acid RQ goes towards 0,7 - indicating that it is time to add more glucose.

As extra benefits, the Prima dB will measure all other components in the offgas, like MeOH, EtOH, CH4, H2S, other secondary metabolites and many more.

How you can determine the end-point of the permanganometry?

We can determine the end point of permanganometry by using titration.

Why titrations of weak acids and weak bases are not done?

It is difficult to determine the end point of such a titration, because the titration produces a buffer solution that changes its pH very slowly at the end point, in contrast to reaction between a strong acid and strong base.

Why is it necessary to determine if a reactant is is a limiting reagent in a reaction?

The limiting reagent is entirely used at the end of a chemical reaction.

What is the difference between end point and equilibrium point in chemistry?

Equivalence point is the point at which the reaction is justcomplete. End point is when there is a permanent color change due to the presence of a indicator.

What is the function of phenolphthalein in titration?

to determine the end point of titration

The end point of a titration indicates the?

neutralization of reaction or completion of titration

Why indicator is being used in titration?

An indicator is so you can see when the end point of the reaction occurs, or when the reaction is complete. This can be an acid-base indicator such as methyl orange which determines the end point with a colour change.

Why is EBT indicator used for EDTA complexometric titration in determining water hardness?

ebt is used to get the end point of reaction that is in the end point it gives steel blue colour describing that the reaction completed now

What can determine the midpoint?

The midpoint is the point between the beginning and the end, in distance or in time.

What are the reactions and products in the chemical reaction?

In a reaction which is not reversible the reactants are always written on the start point of the reaction arrow and products are always written on the end point of the arrow. On the other hand, if you have an equilibrium, then determining reactants and products is a little different.

Why you use phenolphthalein as a indicator in titration of NaOH with HCL?

Phenolphthalein is normally used for this reaction as it accurately displays the end point of the reaction, turning colorless as soon as it reaches the end point of the reaction. If carrying out this reaction, be careful, as the change is usually quite sudden. The color exhibited should be pink (or "fuchsia") at the beginning of the reaction. As it progresses, it should become lighter in color, until it becomes colorless suddenly.
