How do you determine the selling price for a used washing machine and dryer?

my opinion- if it runs, 100 bucks and you make them haul it away. if it doesn't run, or needs repairs- give it away to anyone that will haul it away.
a more scientific approach
take the original purchase price (example- $1000 for both)
take the estimated life expectancy of the appliance (i think its about 10 years for washers and dryers)
take purchase price divided by life expectancy $1000/10 = $100 depreciation per year
so... a 4 year old W/D may be valued at $600
a 5 year old W/D may be valued at $500
a 6 year old W/D may be valued at $400
etc, etc....
however keep in mind that a machine that is towards the end of it's life expectancy will need more repairs and thus value will be much less
i'd also add $50 if i have to help you move the darn things
