Automatic, either 3spd auto or auto O/D. You will have to do some research by VIN, etc., as I believe that was the last year for the 3t40 (125C). You probably have the 4T60E.
1.it will average between $1400 and $2100 dollars depending on who does the work. 2. Had my 1992, 3spd automatic (TH125) transmission fixed here in Pensacola FL at Bellview Transmission Inc for $400 plus tax in 2006. Might be a bit higher now. Call and ask for Bob...
Where is modulator valve s10Hi there,If your transmission is a stock 1987 s10 2WD or 4x4,the transmission is a 700r4, 4 speed transmission w/ Overdrive.(around 1991 the 700r4, was renamed the 4L60, about 1993 became the 4L60E, E for electronic shift.) This transmission did Not have a vaccuum modulator, as did earlierchevrolet 3sp automatic transmissions. They use a TV cable (Thottle Valve cable) to determine shifting. The TV cable hooks up to the carburetor or injection body linkage -in a (visual way) similar to the older (kickdown) linkages of 3spd automatic transmissions. It is NOT a Kickdown cable.Proper adjustment IS CRITICAL to the survival of your 700r4.you. Good luck
first of all theres no such thing as an 88 el camino, the 425 87s that weren't sold were just called that and they usually come with a 350 powerglide which is a 3spd automatic but they also come with a 4spd auto, a 3 spd manual, or a 4 spd manual
I own a 1979 Dodge TransVan with the 400ci/6.5L v8. Doing 50-55mph on the highway, I get 10.4mpg. Mine has a 410 Dana rearend and a 3spd 727 transmission. they are definitely not gas sippers. I'm unsure what other models would get. I know you can get them with 318v8, 360v8, 440v8.

From the factory it should have had a NV4500 5spd manual or a 727 3spd auto., The nv4500 was a good transmission and is used for many diesel swaps. If your looking a an automatic, I would look for a aftermarket preferably an Allison kit. Dodge stock automatic are not that reliable(I've blew up 3 a518s). There are aftermarket built up ones avail. usually $2,200 upto $8,000 for an ATS stage V(sled pulling) trans. From my memory the manual was a Getrag G360 and the auto was a A618/47RH
This is the plug and not the switch....The switch inself is located within the transmission. > If the car has a 3spd automatic (TH125) Look on the front (closest to the radiator) driver side of the tranny for a 4 prong plug...this is the TCC plug.... Unplug it and drive the car. If the problem goes away, then you can replace the solenoid or drive it with it unplugged...it WON'T HURT THE TRANNY!! You will suffer on mileage though.
