On my 2001 Escape I just unplugged one of the wires that go to one of the wheel sensors which in my case was under the hood , way in the back on the right hand side. Just disconnect it and it deactivates the abs system. The light will be on in the dash, but so what. How this helps.

It is important to know what the warning lights mean on a dashboard. The ABS lights flash on any vehicle when there is an issue with the brake system.
How do you disable the abs on 2008 yaris

Why would you want to disable the ABS?

There should be a switch on the left side of the glove box. Please note that this may disable your ABS as well.
I have a 2006 Escape and had the same problem. Turned out to be a cracked ABS Tone Ring.
Actually, the ford escape has a factory recall on the ABS. (anti lock brake system). Take it to your ford dealer and they will fix it for free. Low brake fluid
