Please no insulting lectures about safety. The seat belt chime is too loud and obnoxious! I remember having to pay for the car, so I should be able to make changes when a car is poorly engineered.In the winter, I start my car and leave it run for a few minutes to warm up. The car is in park and the seat belt chime is going. If anyone knows how to make it quieter or disable, please let us know.You can't. you could take it to the dealer and ask them to disable it. you can also go to a junkyard and cut off the end of a belt and click it into your car. alternatively, (what I did with the new Honda civic) you can cut a similar shape of the seatbelt buckle from a piece of plastic and put it in your car. a lid of a plastic container cut out with a pair of scissors worked like a charm.
