Overrride the valet mode in an xj8 2000 jaguar
The best way to get a Jaguar XF out of valet mode would be to take it to the Jaguar dealer or an authorized Jaguar mechanic. As a rule it is generally frowned upon for one to try to work on their own Jaguar because it can cause more problem to arise.
Valet mode disables the electric trunk release and the "home link functions" for security reasons when valet parking. The "valet key" will not open the trunk
Valet mode disables the alarm, if you want starter kill do not disable the alarm.
Use the black key that you have to open the truck, it overrides the Valet Mode. The key goes in a hole that is between the X and the K on the enblem on the rear of the car.
Unlock the driver's door using the BLACK key (not the green one).
You can put the system in valet mode by inserting the key into the ignition hole and out five times. in and out with out turning the key. This will put the system in valet mode and suspend it's normal operations.

What do you mean by "valet mode"? If you mean the trunk release button won't work, there's a valet switch inside the glove compartment that activates and deactivates it. Just turn it off. OR You use the black key in the trunk keyhole which is located in the xk8 emblem. The Keyhole is located between the x and k. That should take it of valet mode.
Valet mode bypasses your security system, so being in Valet mode should not disable your car. Cycle the valet switch a couple of times and try again. In case you don't know how, the switch is often behind the indicator lamp, if not, look for a small button just above your gas and brake pedals. If you know the model of system you have, look up the manual online.
There is no valet mode on a 1996 Chrysler Town and Country.
