VATS can only be disabled by having the vehicle's pcm/ecm reflashed at a dealer
It depends on what type of anti theft device you are talking about. Generally the 1995 Buick Regal has a VATS (vehicle anti theft system) key, which can be identified by the visible resistor pellet on the blade of the key just under the bow (head) of the key. If you have a VATS key it is possible to disable the VATS value in the vehicle's on-board computer, however this information is classified and, being a security professional, I will not divulge such information on the internet. I suggest if you want your VATS system disabled on your vehicle you contact your local locksmith. Most locksmiths who do automotive locksmithing will know how to disable your VATS system.

To disable the VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft System) on a 1990 Cadillac, you can bypass the system by accessing the ignition switch's wiring. Locate the VATS module and identify the resistor that corresponds to your key's resistance value. You can then connect a resistor with the same value directly to the ignition circuit or use a bypass module. However, be cautious as this may affect your vehicle’s security system and could lead to issues with insurance or theft protection.

To disable the VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft System) on a 1989 Firebird, you can locate the VATS module, typically found near the ignition switch or under the steering column. You can bypass it by cutting the two wires that connect to the VATS module and splicing them together, or by using a resistor that matches the resistance of your key's pellet. However, be cautious, as this modification can compromise your vehicle's security system. Always consult a professional or a repair manual for specific guidance before proceeding.

Disabling the VATS system is not the right answer. Bypassing the VATS system on a '89 Pontiac Trams Am requires grounding the crank/start wire on the VATS box (located behind the dash, behind the console) and purchasing a bypass module, which is used in order to allow the fuel injectors to operate. Baker Electronix offers a DFVATS module for this purpose.

If you have a VATS (vehicle anti theft system) equipped vehicle, it would be the other way around....The theft system would cause the fuel pump malfunction. If the theft system does not detect the correct value of the chip in the key it will prevent the fuel pump from functioning. Depending on the year and type of system, (VATS vs. Transponder) your VATS pellet may be worn out and the ignition is unable to read the resistor value. If it is Transponder equipped you may have a faulty chip antenna.
