The two pins above the trigger guard are removed easily. Use a hammer and a punch to tap them out. If you need a punch a chopped up pencil would probably do the trick, to say the pins are easily removed is a bit of an understatement as they are retained by a detent spring. Once the pins have been removed the trigger assembly will pull right out. Hose down with your favorite cleaner, lube sears if desired, assemble in reverse order, and go scare the neighbors.

That would be the model 552 first made in 1957
I just paid 179 for a filthy used one. After cleaning and scrubbing and cleaning... it is great. It is a wonderful FULL sized 22. Not of this midget 10/22 stuff here!
Remington website says brand new retail price is $650.00
Production of the Remington Model 552 A, Speedmaster began in 1957 and was still being produced in 2006 as the 552 BDL Deluxe Fieldmaster NRA Edition.
It's date code stamped on the barrel see related links for information on the Remington Society of America.
If the Remington 552, 22cal. rifle is in mint condition it is worth about 500.00 bucks. It is in very good condition with a scope. My husband passed away and I was wondering how much to ask for it. Any suggestions?
