well the jennings j-22 and bryco j-22 are identical, i used to have on of the brycos now i have a Jiminez J.A. 25 auto. this is based on the same design as well. bryco was sued and went out of business in '04. they were bought by Jiminez and they did the absolute slightest mods possible to have this gun re-approved after the accident that caused the lawsuit which bankrupted bryco
a good way to disassemble is take out the mag, eject chambered round. double check chamber. then use the front of the mag or a screwdriver. press the little black piece that the indicator sits in, push this in. then while holding it inward, start to lift from back. if this doesn't help. try this on YouTube... goodluck
keep in mind a pistol is always worth more when properly used and maintained; despite price. Keep in mind that a j-22 is a cheap pistol, made of alloys and cast zincs, depending on who/and when its manufactured. (oh a word of advice; one the slide is off watch out, there arent many peices to this gun but they sure are small. and if your not careful and you pulll the trigger, the firing mechanisms may just decide to pop out on you.)

keep in mind that a j-22 is a sns (Saturday night special)
these guns often only last about 5000 rounds- to keep yours goin, clean it regularly after use. and for sure if you shoot over 100 rounds. DO NOT shoot anyhting other than a standard velocity. the high velocity of stingers and the like will cause problems both to feed due to the casings, as well as presenting a greater risk of cracking the slide, or the frame around the mag bay.at least this is my personal recommendation. some shooters will tell you the exact opposite and that without a stinger or hyper velocity round that this gun will not cycle. however finding what standard ammo your gun reliably shoots and sticking with this will help keep these gun made of such cheap metals lasting and being safe to shoot for longer. good choice of rounds is federal 22 ... ive heard mixed reviews about Remington "goldies" personally, don't even try emm... find an ammo your gun likes and keep with it. keep that lil sucker clean as a baby's bottom. and it may last you a few years or a few thousand rounds. whichever comes first.
good luck with everything and have fun shooting.and be safe. hope you like your gun. i loved my j-22 and my J.A. 25... but just keep in mind you get what you pay for.... they are a"poor man's gun" or a cheap plinker. but its a hell-of-allott better than no gun..

how do i disassemble a field master .22 caliber?
You can read or download a manual at http://stevespages.com/pdf/remington_572.pdf or you can go to Remington.com and request one.
A High Standard with a 2 inch bbl is likely a derringer, and is not meant to be disassembled by the owner. Take it to a gunsmith.
