there is a speacial tool to release the fuel lines. there are two diffrent sizes on one tool. This tool fits over the line and has to be pressed in to release the connection. You can pic up the release tool from any auto parts store and don't waste your money buying the cheapest one which is about 7 $ get the next one up, it will work properly. I had to pull my fuel pump out 3 times and had to buy the best one they had do to tight spaces and agrevation, it finnaly worked. The cheap one doesn't fit and will bend with very little preasure, good luck
