A qualified, trained motor mechanic will be able to find out what the real problem is and therefore what is the best way of fixing it
It depends on what you trying to do. If disconnect battery and reconnect it the immobilizer activates automatically. So you will not be able to start the car with key with chip.
Try your spare key. Usually the key will wear out and make it so you cant start the car.
Usually by turning the key (but alot of cars nowadays dont have a key anymore so u can push the "start-button"
You can not bypass the theft deterrent on your Cadillac. This is a pass lock system in which the key is coded directly to the cylinder. If the theft deterrent has be intiated on your vehicle the best bet is to if you have the key is to disconnect the battery for atleast 10 minutes so the BCM resets and then reconnect the battery and use your key. The vehicle should start. If the ignition has been busted either replace the ignition or get a steering column with a key from a junkyard. Or you can wire the theft deterrent to ground and cause a resistance which might work. You can not bypass the theft deterrent on your Cadillac. most quads are key start so they use a key to start them and are called electric start quads and some quads use a pull start to start like a push lawnmower and are called pull start quads
unplug the control module fuse and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes.
disconnect the battery and reconnect. when the battery is reconnected within 20 secinds turn the ignition on and press the immobiliser button on the remote device ( the unlock button on the key ). that should reprogramme the receiver and the transmmitter.

Hi just bought a second -hand Hyundai excel for my daughter having same problem, my husband has to disconnect the battery and then the key will come out easily. We have tried to press the brake to remove the key and make sure it is in Park, still will not turn from ACC to lock. A friend has suggested getting a button put in just under the lock mechanism to disconnect the battery for a few secs so we can remove the key as it will be a hassle for my daughter to try and open the bonnet disconnect battery and then run around to get key out, what a pain!! Only trouble you lose all info: clock time and radio settings every time you disconnect.
