It is illegal to disconnect the odometer on any vehicle. So you will get no help here.
It is illegal to disconnect an odometer. Why would you want to do this?
Now why would you want to do that??? You wouldn't be able to tell how many miles you've driven! It is a crime to disconnect the Odometer.
There cable. It is electronically controlled.
I have never heard of a Nissan bluebird but federal law forbids the disconnecting of the odometer
In violation of federal law to do so.
You can't without affecting the performance of the transmission.
Violation of federal law to do so
No, but rolled forward it can be (in the words of yoda) ;)
Nope,, is not possible, it displays both mileage and trip info
First off disconnect the battery. You'll obviously need to get the instrument cluster out. It should just have a few screws at the top, then it'll slide out allowing you to disconnect the wires. It be wise just to replace all of the bulbs while you are in there. http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticles/101-Projects-90-Gauges/101-Projects-90-Gauges.htm That gets pretty detailed for the E36's.
The transmission will not shift properly if you try to disable the odometer. The check engine light and abs light will also come on.
