You have to get close to the area, then use both Rad Away and Rad-x, along with a decent rad resistance suit or armor, then just make a run for the middle of it. Hotkey the rad away, and pop it as you go. It may take a few tries...but it can be done. Another suggestion will be getting the Cyborg perk which will allow to not only take 1/2 of the damage you normally would but resist rads. So take advantage of the perks that have RAD RESISSTANCE.

∙ 14y agoThe front entrance is highly radiated and you will die from radiation poisoning. You enter from Little Lamplight either through a vault or Murderers Pass which is full of super mutants due to the radiation

∙ 14y agoyou must first gain access to little lamplight caverns then ask mayor mcbready to let you into to murderpass once he brings you to the gate your goin to walk into a door and there will be alot of supermutants on the way to the entrance of vault 87, so you might want to stock up on as much as you can first so don't try going to through the vault. because its full of supermutants and youll just die from the radiation and the door is inaccesible.

If you are asking about the way into Vault 87, then the main doorway and computer in the Great Chamber is red herring. It will not open, as you need to find a kid called Mayor MacCready. Talk to him and he will open the gate to Murder Pass. This is the way to Vault 87 and lots of Super Mutants to kill on the way through the pass.

First, free him from vault 87(during the main quest) then, after you get captured py the enclave and escape Ravens Rock, he'll be out front.
