You need a scanning device to read the codes. Many auto parts stores can do this for you at no charge in hopes that you purchase the parts from them needed to fix the problem. There are scanning devices out there you can purchase for under $100 if you want to make the investment.

Go to an auto parts store and ask them to run a scan. It's free and they check the codes with a special scan tool
Put the key in the ignition, and turn it from "off" to "run" (WITHOUT STARTING) Three times. The odometer screen should then start to read out the stored fault codes.
55 code is not an error code, it signals end of codes. If no other codes preceded it, you have no error codes.
