You could take them to a scrap dump, or the computer manual, etc. may tell you of proper disposal methods.

First, you want to actually have a new computer ready to go. If you are experienced in computer hardware, you may want to remove some parts (such as the RAM, optical drive or hard disk). Then, sell it, give it to a friend, or dispose of it properly.

Set them on a drain pan inverted for 24 hours, crush them, then dispose of them. If you don't work in a shop where you have such a setup, auto parts stores should be able to dispose of them at no cost to you.
