no
No. Nor is there any need to. Windows Vista (the only operating system that can run DirectX 10) also includes DirectX 9 for backwards-compatibility.
Yes.
I think you need at least itunes 8 or 9. I'd get 10 if I were you...
go on itunes and connect your ipod touch to your computer and hold shift and click upgrade
No, you do not have to have iTunes 9 for an iPod Touch, but iTunes 8.0 or later is required.
You cannot downgrade from different firmwares from the one you have now, but you can downgrade to the firmware you have now from a future firmware. First, download "tiny umbrella" and save your shsh blurb (there will be a button that says "save shsh" Second, download the firmware that you saved from iclarifed and save it to your desktop. Then plug in your iphone and go into itunes. Go back into tiny umbrella and start the "TSS server" (Its ok if itunes crashes, just reopen it) Then on a pc, hold shift ("option" on a mac) and click restore on the iphone menu. It should bring up a menu showing all the files in the computer. Click on the firmware you want to downgrade to and it will work! NOtes: You need to have the shsh saved and the tss server saved to downgrade The shsh must be of the firmware you want to downgrade to Use recboot, if the "plug into itunes" picture comes up. Good Luck!
Restoring a backup merely restores the apps, data, and contacts you had saved on the device. It won't downgrade it from iOS 8 to iOS 7.1.1.
itunes 9
Yes. It doesn't matter what software your iPod touch has - it will still be compatible with iTunes versions 8 and up.
1]Download the software you want 2]Connect ipod to itunes 3]While holding shift click on "Restore", or "Check For Update" and find the software. 4]Go ahead and click the software and it will upgrade or downgrade to the version you have downloaded.
If it does not open, try restarting your computer. If it still does not open, delete that iTunes and redownload iTunes 9 from Apple's website.
