first determine if you car has a coolant cap on the radiator or on a plastic bottle, then remove the cap ( only if the car is cool ), 2nd, the vehicle usually comes with a drain plug on the bottom of the radiator usually on the drivers side, looks like a butterfly plastic twist thing that you have to unscrew to drain the coolant. or you can do the im in a hurry drain in which you take off the cap first and then the lower radiator hose connected to the radiator, this usually has a clamp that you can use a screw driver to unscrew off or a tension clamp to where you have to squeeze them together to remove it. this requires some maneuvering up and down, back and forth to remove but it will come off, DO NOT be close to it as coolant will come pouring out at a fast rate, your gonna get wet regardless, but those r the two ways that you can drain the coolant from your vehicle
In order to replace the heater core, you have to go under the dash, passanger side. But before you go for it, you have to drain the coolant from the motor.

The window motor on a Lincoln Continental is replaced by removing the door trim, disconnecting the wiring harness to the motor, and unbolting it from the door. A new motor can then be mounted and hooked up.

The small plugs, on both sides of the engine block, at the rear edge of the motor mounts. A pita to drain. You have to remove the motor mounts.
there should be a pitcock on bottom of radiator to drain it. or take the bottom radiator hose with motor cold of course .

turn the key the motor turns over but will not start
The radiator drain plug on a Ford 5.4 L Triton motor is located on the bottom, right side of the radiator. It allows the coolant to be quickly drained.
If its the oil drain plug its under the engine on the back of the oil pan, but if your looking for a coolant drain plug afraid you wont find one about the only way i know to do it is to unhook the bottom of the coolant hose and bump the motor over without starting it.
it is on either side just behind motor mounts
