For an auto make sure you have the shift kick down linkage (a cable running up the top of the trans to the throttle in the engine compartment) and it's easier if you don't have the wheels up on ramps, rather the car on jackstands so the front wheels are hanging, make sure you pulled the sub frame, and it should just "wiggle" right out.
It's on the transmission, two 14mm bolts.
The starter is located on the driver side below the intake all the way in the back. hooked up with two bolts to the transmission.
follow the top hose from the radiator to the engine this will terminate in an aluminum housing secured with two/three bolts the thermostat will be in this housing.
remove the bolts holding the housing connected to the top radiator hose. go from there
Take the inside cover off and there should be 3 bolts holding it on.
Look under the frigging seat. There are nuts or bolts on the brackets under there holding the seat to the floor. It is up to you to remove the right bolts.
usually mechanics torque head bolts to 58lbs that is one of the main cause of blown head gaskit due to powerful engine. it should be torqued to atleast 67 lbs. i have it on my 87 turbo with no problems.
Remove the battery and the cruise control actuator. The starter has two bolts holding it in. Remove the bolts and wiring, then install the new starter. Re-install the cruise control and battery.
It's Not too bad , Pop the door clips and there are three bolts holding it in place. Dosconnect the motor controls and go.
If it has the hex bolts, find a hex wrench that is the right size, cut the wrench approx 2 inches long and find a socket that fits the hex. You can attach your torque wrench to the socket. Been there did that.
Start in the center and work you way outward, loosening them slowly. Keep working back and forth until they are all loose. Make about 3 passes before you loosen them all.
You just disconect the wires and then take out the bolts holding it in. Remember to always disconnect the battery.
