Lil' Rod
When weaving baskets with round reed and doing a three rod wale, you will get a spiral effect. To avoid that you must do a step-up at the end of each row. Mark the first spoke of your weaving. When you get back to this spoke, you will have your three weavers in the three spaces just before the initial spoke. Now take the weaver NEXT to the first spoke and go over two and behind one. then do the same with the center weaver, then the one on the left--in other words, you are doing something that is very much like a three rod wale, but starting on the right of the group of three rather than the left. Be sure to snug your weaving down tight before starting the next row.
