How do you engine swap a Honda Accord f22al motor into a 1990 Honda Civic HB?

Yeah, don't bother with the F22A1, it's a lousy engine. The H series heads will bolt directly on however, regardless of if it's DOHC or SOHC. Look up G23, it's a combination of a F23A1 block and a H22 VTEC head. It makes the same power as a K series at 1/3 the price

dont even bother just put a b series in it and its a direct mount just change the motor mounts. did it on my civic defentaly worth it
