There is no need to equip an island. Once you purchase an island, it will automatically appear. You have to wait a set amount of time for the island to finish construction, and then begin using it.

Yes, you can go back to the blacksmith's and it will say "item already bought, press A (or X for PlayStation users) to re-equip. And also, any purchased weapon will be at Ezio's uncles house in the armoury.

There is no longer a saddlery on Howrse. Instead, just go to the bottom right of your horse's page where you will find the options to equip him with tack from either the EC he is boarded at, or with shop bought items. You can also equip him with special tack direct from the black market.

Your character will be the one you choose at your accound creation. If you want another character, you can buy one with NX (costs real money to buy NX). If you want to outfit your character, go to shop, click on the Gear tab, and buy what you want for your character. When you buy it will ask if you would like to store what you bought, or equip. Click equip. If you click store and you simply click on the Character tab at the very top and again click on the gear tab. Then double click on the item you bought to equip it.
