How do you erase your hard drive I have Windows Vista on a HP laptop. There were no disks or anything vista was already loaded up. I don't want to lose vista I just want to start from scratch.?

I'm not sure how your computer works but I had the same problem my laptop came with windows vista but recently I had to restart from scratch I still had windows vista.

The only truly reliable method would be to re-install windows from scratch. Still, if you go to the Run command (start menu), and type in msconfig, you can go to the startup list and find out if anything is loading that you don't need. Do not disable anything without knowing exactly what it is!
