Increase its happiness to 220. You can ask its happiness from a lady in Verdanturf. When the lady says "It seems to be very happy. It obviously likes you a whole lot" Golbat is soon to evolve, cause the quota is 200 between 250, so its no a long way to go.

∙ 14y agoi think you have to raise it until golbat have total happiness. go to pallet town and go to your rival house n make sure the golbat is the first one in you r party. talk to your rival's mother and she should say you pokmeon loves you beyong words or something. if she says something like dat...all you need to do is to level up your golbat. then it will evolve into a crobat

Lets get this Some-what straight.
You do NOT trade it. To evolve it you need it to be happy. Giving it haircuts (underground Goldenrod), Giving it proteins...Hp Ups.. Stuff like that, Give it a massage (Pallet town 3-4 P.M. In Blue's house I believe.),Walk around with it, Battle (or walk) with it holding Soothe Bell. These really help. If you talk to it, you can tell when its happy. Smiley Faces or Music notes usually appear. Also if you talk to a lady in the house near the Goldenrod Department store she will tell you how happy it is. (Make sure you have it at the front of you team.) She will say something like "It really trusts you!" or "Your Pokemon loves you!" Something like that. If she says "Your Pokemon is cute!" your not even CLOSE. I had that problem. I really hopes this helps. Hope you didn't trade it yet!
