my friends staffy has had a litter of pups but we can't seem to get the last born pup to feed from her what should we do.
The pup may need to be tube-fed....your Vet can instruct you on what to feed, how to feed (so you don't endanger the pup) and how often to feed.
No it will not. Not even wild animals will reject their babies if touched by humans, that's a wivestale.
more then three times a a day
you feed them the same flakes you are feeding the adults except you grind it into a fine powder.
Preferably by it's mother... but failing that, I'd say the same way you'd care for a pup. Bottle feed it puppy milk if it's still young, if it's old enough to eat solids, just feed it puppy food or raw meat.
You can feed your wild lizard pinkies, or newborn mice. You can find pinkies at any exotic animal location.
Syringe feed newborn pup
A pup.
A pup
My dog had one pup and he died at birth because he got stuck because he had big shoulders
I'm not a vet... but any dog I've had that had puppies nursed right away... I would try to get your dog to relax so she can feed her newborn
The size of a meerkat pup that is three weeks old is about three inches tall, so a newborn pup would be slightly smaller.
not long
Since I think you mean feed I will answer it as such. Really 2 reasons: first being something is wrong with the pup and she knows it. Which means you will need to get puppy formula and bottle feed every 2 hours, defiately take to vet to check. Second being she is young ( I don't know how old your dog is) and does not know what to do. You can try to guide the pup to her teat and get it to latch on, once the pup starts nursing, the hormones released will help the momma dog know what to do.
The Udder is used to feed the newborn calf.
You shouldn't feed a newborn anything until you talk with your vet.
Either a pup, kit, or cub. There is no specific name. It varies.
A pup is a term that is commonly used to describe a young or newborn dog. This term comes from the short form of puppy, which is the most commonly used term.
