If you want to feed your dog a commercial diet of dry food mixed with a small amount of canned food, check with your veterinarian for his or her recommendations on high quality foods, as well as the amount of food to feed your dog. The directions concerning amounts on most canned or bagged dog foods are often misleading. Most dogs thrive on two meals a day, one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. Be sure that your dog always has access to fresh drinking water.
