THey are a sealed type unit (crap) and to fill you need to get under vehicle and there is a filler bolt on the drivers side. Often very tight so don't use regular sockets use mpact sockets(6 sided instead if multi sided). Fill to overflow. PAIN IN THE ASS, THANK YOU Ford.
As on many vehicles, the clutch fluid reservoir is shared with the brake fluid reservoir.Pretty easy to find.Whatever you do,don't get confused between gearbox oil(which goes in the gearbox..DUHH!)and brake/clutch fluid.
There should be an opening which you can unscrew on the side of the gearbox
The rear washer fluid come from the windshield washer fluid reservoir on your 1999 Ford Expedition ( according to the owners manual )
On a 1999 Ford Expedition : The washer fluid for the rear liftgate is supplied by the same reservoir for the front windshield ( located in the engine compartment )
Okay- Do not put automatic transmission fluid in a manual transmission! You need to put gear oil in a manual transmission. This is usually brown like oil and about 90 weight. Fill gearbox until the level is up to the fill hole but not flowing from the fill hole(as the fill hole is on the side of the gearbox).
That tractor does not use transmission fluid. It uses gear oil for the gearbox and hydraulic fluid for the lift.
dick
you mite have to remove the speedo cable from the gearbox to top up the gearbox fluid, there should be a level mark on the base of the speedo cable when removed from gearbox. or there will be a bolt half way up the gearbox abut 23 or24mm in size, you will have to remove this and pour gearbox fluid in there until it begings to come out that hole. hope this helps.
In a 1999 Ford Taurus : ( DOT 3 brake fluid meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A )
Any SAE certified transmission fluid can be used in your 1999 Ford. Ford automobiles use the same transmission fluid as other makes of cars.
Your question is confusing. An A/T does not use gear oil, it uses A/T fluid. Some manual transmissions do use A/T fluid but I know of A/T that uses gear oil. But the answer is the same for both manual and A/T. You add fluid at the same place you check the fluid level.
i need to know where the gearbox is for my Ford Expedition
