There is an oil reservoir left hand side of the car boot, behind carpeting, to the rear of the wheel arch, this is the hydraulic oil unit.
If you look at the pump there is a small nut, It is on the side about half way down ...
Remove this then fill with fluid. You may find that it's as well to have someone operate the hood whilst you are filling it - and operate it fully closed and fully open several times... this bleeds the fluid through the pipes...
If that's all that was wrong with it and it very probably is - then you should find its all well and good after that.
As for the fluid - I can give you the SHELL grade / make... It's called Shell TELLUS 32. If you go to the likes of any good car accessory shop for the oil - they will have a book / chart that will tell you what other types / make / grade it takes...depending on what they stock.
It's right next to the reservoir for the turn signal fluid, in the trunk.
To fill and bleed the hydraulic pump on an Audi A4 Cabriolet roof, first, locate the hydraulic fluid reservoir, usually found near the pump. Use the appropriate hydraulic fluid to fill the reservoir to the specified level. Next, operate the roof mechanism several times to help purge air from the system, checking the fluid level and adding more as needed. Finally, repeat this process until no air bubbles are visible in the reservoir, ensuring smooth operation of the roof.
To bleed or burp the cooling system on a Range Rover, start by ensuring the engine is cool. Open the radiator cap and the bleed valve, if applicable, to allow air to escape. Fill the radiator with coolant until it reaches the proper level, then replace the cap. Start the engine and let it run until it reaches operating temperature, checking for any air bubbles and topping off the coolant as necessary.
There is no bleed valve. You have to use a tool that pulls a vacume on it to fill it without getting it locked with air. Locate a small screw on the drivers side of the motor were the hose meets a hard line. (NOTE- It is a real small screw.)
The Land Rover systems are self bleeding, just fill the header tank with water, then run the car while topping the tank up as the car pumps the water around the engine. Then go for a drive and ensure the heater is hot and check the water level when you return. If you have a re-occurring problem of air in your water system it would not be uncommon to have a blown head gasket or a cracked engine block.
You have to refill it and bleed all over again ,every line. Make sure you fill master as you bleed.
They don't have one! They have a drain plug at the bottom and a fill hole on the side. You need to fill to the bottom of the fill hole.
replace the line and fill and bleed breaks.
The fill plug is on the transmission pan. Fill above the plug level its best to use a transfer pump for this. Fill past the plug and let drain till the fluid starts gulping out of the hole then plug it and your ready to go. Don't forget to use ONLY LAND ROVER GENUINE FLUID otherwise DAMAGE COULD OCCUR.
If the motor is cold fill to the full cool mark if the motor is hot fill to the hot mark!
To fill your Mercury Outboard Trim boat motor, lower your engine to a 45 degree angle, Make sure your boat is level. Remove fill screw, and add the amount of fluid required to fill.
use half water half antifreeze to the fill level
