It takes 1 out of 8,000 chances to find a Shiny Pokemon, A shiny pokemon is a different coloration of a typical wild pokemon you find in the game let's use Rattata as an example say you find Rattata over 8,000 times one time out of all those 8,000 times it will be a brownish color instead of purple that's it's shiny color you will notice a yellow star appear and glitter around the Rattata that means it's shiny.
